Hi, I'm Germaine Haller

Camera & Lights

A passionate camera person with a love for capturing the authenticity of real life. My journey began at 10 years old with an analogue Olympus camera and endless curiosity.

Street photography became my first love - immortalizing fleeting moments that tell powerful stories. This passion grew into creating skits and music videos with friends, eventually leading to a career in the film industry.

Every frame I capture reflects my belief in the beauty of unscripted moments and the art of storytelling.

Take a look around and see the world as I see it - one shot at a time.

What people who I worked with say:

Carolina Suárez // Actress

"Als Schauspielerin ist es mir unglaublich wichtig, mich vor der Kamera sicher und verstanden zu fühlen – und genau das habe ich bei Germaine erlebt. Ihre Professionalität, ihr Blick fürs Detail und ihre einfühlsame Art haben es mir leicht gemacht, mich voll auf meine Rolle zu konzentrieren. Mit ihr zu arbeiten, war eine absolute Freude!"

Roland // Owner Aftermovie Agency

"Germaine was a dream to work with. Her ability to capture emotions so that viewers can experience them with their full range is unmatched in our agency to date."

Manon Pichon // Camera Woman

"I had the chance to work with Germaine on several projects. She is not only a hard worker but also always comes up with clever solutions to help along film shoots. Moreover she has a true team spirit, making sure everyone feels safe and has what is needed during production."

 Germaine Haller

Born in Vienna in 1987, the same year „Dirty Dancing“ was released. From a very early age she had a huge interest in films; and when sent to bed early, so her parents could watch the prime time movie, she would always sneak out into the hallway and watch the whole film standing there quietly. Even the risk that her parents could turn their heads and catch her awake and out of bed at any second couldn't detour her.

And so her love for movies grew. When she started to get pocket money, she‘d spend it on VHS, and later on DVDs. What she didn't spend on movies, she would spend on Kodak film for her analogue Olympus camera, as she also loved taking pictures of everything and everyone.

At first, she had no idea that her love for film and photography would turn into more than just a hobby. She started to make videos with friends at the age of 17. Shot on Mini VHS tapes and edited in Pinnacle Studio. They weren't masterpieces, but they enjoyed making them and having those little screenings with their families. It wasn't until much later however, that she realized that creating movies is what she wanted her career to be.

Once the decision was made to pursue this as her dream...

She took positions as a Directing Assistent and Camerawork on student films and artistic shoots, from there on to paid freelance work in directing, Camerawork, and editing.

At her studies for her BA in Cinematography at the Film Academy Vienna she was exceeding all expectations and graduated with honors.

Currently she is in the midst of studying for a Master's degree in Cinematography at the Vienna Film Academy, and as difficult as this industry and path can be, she loves every second of it and wouldn't change it for the world.

"Her poise and professionalism, as well as her gift to somehow get calmer under stress were absolutely invaluable in keeping things going when a cascade of unforeseeable external factors nearly derailed the shoot.

It's no exaggeration to say that we wouldn't have managed to pull it off without her.

I can't wait to work with her again and recommend her in the highest possible way.

good camerawoman is one you do not notice, because only then do the actors have the space they need to be creative.
